Valentines Day Couples Relay

After starting in pristine Umatac Bay, the two paddlers will switch off at Nimitz Beach in Agat and return back to Umatac. Usually the first leg is the best surfing run, but the wind and swell direction have been inconsistent the last few days, so it could be the reverse this year. Registration wil start at 0700 in Umatac and is $25 per vessel. New to the event this year va'as (Tahitian style rudderless canoes) will be allowed and there will be a division for the fastest growing segment of our sport Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP). Please remember that all canoes/SUP must have a leash. PFD are strongly reccomended for everyone and are REQUIRED for Junior paddlers (they do not have to be worn, but should be attached to kanu.) Junior paddlers 14 and over are allowed with parent/guardian permission. SUP paddlers are requested to carry a whistle. Start times: SUP/Paddleboard 0745, OC1/OC2/Va'a 0815.

If you want to paddle but do not have a partner or canoe, please reply and I will try and coordinate, or come down to Umatac early and we'll see what we can do. Canoes will generally not be provided by event organizer, but we will try and help everyone to play. Special gifts for all 'couples'...I guess non-gender specific to be PC...but really it will be for Boy/Girl. Any quessions or comments, just reply or call #s below.
